Eutechnyx, a development company with satellites based in Hong Kong, China and GatesHead, UK, received a Selective Finance for Investment Grant from One NorthEast back in 2005 to expand their development studio in GatesHead. With enough resources to expand their 80-man development team, Eutechnyx announced through an official press release that it is now focusing on developing games for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

Recently known for their game renderings of MTV franchises Pimp My Ride (published by Activision) and The Fast and the Furious (published by Electronic Arts), the company is “enjoying” the top 20 of the UK sales chart for the PS2 versions of both games. Andy Walton, eBusiness Manager at One NorthEast, said:

Eutechnyx is a successful videogames company with its roots firmly in the North East, so IÂ’m delighted they are doing so well. You generally find that itÂ’s businesses from Japan and America that dominate the videogames market, so itÂ’s great that Eutechnyx can boast two games riding high in the UK charts.

Eutechnyx’s game development experience repertoire extends way back to the days of the Atari 8-bit family and the Commodore 64, and have been known to work with Codemasters on the memorable Micro Machines series. There is no official announcement on the games they have under development or being planned for development, but we could expect a driving-themed one pretty soon.
