EverQuest movie in the works
Fans of Sony Online Entertainment’s (SOE) massively multiplayer online RPG franchise EverQuest will get the biggest gift from the game’s creators since EverQuest 2. IGN has recently reported that an EverQuest movie is in the works and it has some big names behind it.
Marvel Studios bigwig Avi Arad is said to be behind this project with Sony Pictures. Arad has produced some of the biggest big screen hits in the recent years, scoring box-office successes like Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and Blade.
Also, the man behind the blockbuster movie 300 from earlier this year is said to be in the team. Michael Gordon is set to take command of a plot whose details are yet to be hinted at.
EverQuest, on the other hand, is among the pioneers of the MMORPG genre, and is among the biggest and most popular ones as well. Its huge playing world and deep gameplay offer players countless hours of enjoyment with 14 different races and a plethora of classes.
It’s interesting how the world of Norah will be brought to life on the big screen and how the EverQuest community will react to this bold move by Sony. We’ve all got our fingers crossed that Arad, Gordon, and the rest of the people behind the screens will deliver a film that will do justice to one of the MMO industry’s biggest names.
