Famitsu survey: Japan went “Wii!” last Xmas

Wii DS - Image 1 Famitsu‘s back again, though we won’t be dealing with another slew of their mag scans or ratings. Japan‘s premier gaming mag has just finished finalizing their polls for last Christmas, which delved into which console was played the most during the holidays.

Their results?

The Wii took the lead for this poll with 244 votes, followed up by DS (185), PS2 (148), Xbox 360 (146), and PSP (115). Following up on this survey, the magazine quizzed the resident retailers on their bestsellers of the season. According to their results, the NDS Lite took the lead (46), followed up by the Wii (28), Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (8), and Yakuza 2 for the PS2 (5).

On that note, we have nary any news on a US release of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker – which is a bit disheartening given just how popular it’s proven in Japan.
