Final Fantasy XIII demo will focus on “the basics”
Eye-candy cut-scenes are good and all, but I wanna see how Final Fantasy XIII‘s battle system actually works. Fortunately, Square Enix says this is exactly what they’re going to focus on with the demo.
(Unfortunately, the demo’s Japan-only, so I still won’t see how it plays… I have to consider moving to Japan.)
Eye-candy cut-scenes are good and all, but I wanna see how Final Fantasy XIII‘s (PS3, 360) battle system actually works. Fortunately, Square Enix says this is exactly what they’re going to focus on with the demo. Not that that’s any surprise. That’s what a demo is for.
(Unfortunately, the demo’s Japan-only, so I still won’t see how it plays… I have to consider moving to Japan.)
Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase says that since the game still won’t be out for some time yet, the demo will only focus on “the basics.” Considering how much the battle interface changed in the last comparison shots they revealed, it won’t be surprising if it changes again between the release of the demo and the release of the actual game.
Kitase also notes that the game’s basic elements are done, and he can finally see its completion time coming. We (or at least, Japan) will be seeing more promotional events for the game this year. Any bets we’ll see Lightning in ads promoting energy drinks?
