First Pictures of Palm’s Low-End Treo?

We told you that we thought Palm desperately needed to broaden its smartphone product line here.

Now pictures of what’s said to be a lower-end Treo have started circulating on the Web.  The unit’s said to resemble a Treo 650/700w with the antenna lopped off, and has supposedly been given the code name ‘Lowrider’.

While the unit looks good – in our opinion the massive, bulky antenna detracts from the existing Treo’s looks – we wonder if these pictures aren’t just those of a freshened-up Treo 650/700w.  And it’s certainly possible that this is a complete fake (it’s not at all hard to erase the antenna from the picture of a Treo). 

Only time will tell, of course.  But what do you guys think?
