Fist of the North Star to turn into an MMO

Fist of the North Star - Image 1

Siliconera informs that a Fist of the North Star MMORPG is in the works. What’s interesting about the game is the system it has, and boy is the system as kooky as the anime.

Combat? - Image 1First off, there is no money in this game, at all. Everything is done via trading. Sorry folks, gold means nothing here.

Second, the character progresses/gets customized via skill orbs. Orbs can either be active attacks, passive boosts, our counter attacks.

Lastly, combat here is a bit weird. It sort adopts a rock-paper-scissors system. Siliconera’s Spencer notes that he’s not quite sure if there is going to be much control in the fighting system of the game. He speculates that it is likely that the game will just let you pick one of three attacks and then have you watch the action on the screen.

While we’re not quite sure if these changes to the MMO formula will work, and will make Fist of the North Star into a great game, we are amused by the twists they’ve put in.

Well, the wackiness seems apt since there’s a pachinko-styled fighting Fist of the North Star fighting game set to be released for Nintendo’s Wii. Oh, and pachinko is this weird mix, of bingo, slot machines, and monetary quantum singularities. Rock-paper scissors for MMOs, pachinko for the Wii, oh you crazy crazy Japanese.
