Foobar2000 Remote Interface v1.2a
PlayStation Portable (PSP) homebrew developer trex6662k5 dropped by the QJ.NET Forums for a quick update to his current project, the Foobar2000 Remote Interface (RI) application. In case you’re not familiar with this homebrew application, it allows users to control the PC-based Foobar2000 media player by using their PSP’s WiFi connection.
We’re sure the guys who have been enjoying this app’s v1.0 will appreciate this update, which comes with these major tweaks:
- Minor optimisations
- Moved more global variables to local Optimised local split()
- If the queue is broken, reset the counter.
- Next, Previous, Random buttons now change colour when pressed
- Play, Pause, Stop still rely on actual Foobar2000 status.
- Killed a bug which crashed the PSP if you attempted to scroll a blank tracklist.
- Killed related bugs
- Cleared the queue if you pressed Previous (Since foo_controlserver also does this)
- Added the ability to add a playlist to queue (Although it MIGHT miss a few of the last tracks)
- Made the TMP images refresh often when new data gets added.
- Now, changing the playlist also updates the playlist count in the playlist
- Added more “Error” messages
trex6662k5 notes that unless further bugs are found, or unless the tracklist gets updated, this will be the application’s last update.
As with all homebrew applications, make sure to view the download bundle’s README (aka RTFM) for full installation details. There’s also Foobar2000 RI’s release thread over at the QJ.NET Forums, where additional developer and user comments can be found. Enjoy the download!
