This one for Sega‘s Garnet Chronicle might come as a close second (or third, after the Tales games – maybe even a fourth after Jeanne d’Arc – or possibly a fifth after… oh bother, let’s just move on shall we?). This one for Sega‘s Garnet Chronicle might come as a close second (or third, after the Tales games – maybe even a fourth after Jeanne d’Arc – or possibly a fifth after… oh bother, let’s just move on shall we?).

Garnet Chronicle‘s opening animations could easily make it somewhere in my top list of RPG anime openings: it has the epic factor, intense battles, scantily clad characters, and fancy-shmancy magic. Ooh, pretty:

We also have a gameplay clip embedded below. Here we see actual in-game graphics plus a look into the battle. It looks like the clip was taken from the first few areas of the game (it even has the “Crono! Crono! Wake up, Crono!” feel to it), and as you can see from the battle clips, you can have up to four people in your battle party:
