GC 2007: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue developer interview and Car Models walkthrough videos

Gearheads and armchair racers rejoice – Gran Turismo 5, the next-gen entry to the racing series that had us picking our jaws off the floor ever since it came along almost ten years ago, is looking to be one of the best-looking games on the PlayStation 3, bar none. And here to get you a taste of just what its Prologue edition is going to look like, we have a video update that not only shows off the title’s divine graphics, but also some useful bits of info you’d be wise to take note of. To it, then!

The first video is a developer interview, with the game’s ridiculously-awesome visuals playing in the background. In it, we find out that the game is actually a back-to-basics title for Polyphony Digital – to once more get to the core element of the game while at the same time raising the bar on all aspects.

The second video lets us view the improved car modeling values up close – and suffice to say it’s all drool-inducing. Rendered at an whopping average of 200,000 polygons per car (a Gran Turismo car on the PlayStation 2 only has 4,000), it’s suffice to say that these luxury vehicles of rubber-burning heaven look almost too photorealistic to be true. And when you consider the fact that the interior of the car is being rendered as well – Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is definitely a game to take advantage of the PS3’s graphical muscle.

Enough spoilers from us. Enjoy the videos!
