GDC: Repercussions of Warhawk’s Network-only status

It seems that ever since the rumors of Warhawk’s PlayStation Network-only status came to pass, things haven’t been going so well at Incognito Entertainment. Despite dissatisfaction at the game’s single-player dissolution, they are pushing forward with making a product gamers can feel good about.

According to a report from PS3 Fanboy, a member of the development team actually walked out after hearing the news of the game’s fate. Warhawk’s Dylan Jobe noted that some members happened to grow frustrated at the turn of events, though it hasn’t stopped them from developing and refining the game.

Said Jobe, “Crap product will sell like crap, whether or not it’s on a shelf or not.” Hopefully, a public beta will be in the works to lift the spirits of both the gamers and the beleaguered dev team working on the game. Till then, we’re hoping that the dev team does what it can to prove the misconception of Network-only games being lesser experiences wrong.
