Gears of GoW un-fixed by patch update?
The inner gears of Gears of War just got squeakier. Reports are coming in that the recently released Locust Horde bug-squasher (i.e. a patch update) for GoW had some issues with it. As people in the GoW forums and Xbox.com say, the patch caused problems with the game’s ability to output 1280×1024 resolutions on VGA.
We’re not sure what went wrong, and Microsoft does acknowledge these patch error reports. They’re currently on the case. To think that this VGA-issue was at the top of the list of what’s to be addressed in the patch, it’s only natural that Microsoft get their magicians to look into the situation ASAP.
As far as the patch error is concerned, it reportedly distorted text characters, thus making them look shorter or fatter at times – it has something to do with the aspect ratio of the screen.
In any case, we’ll bring you guys more updates as soon as Microsoft or Epic Games find the source of the problems.
