Genji: Days of the Blade fact sheet and artwork
After months of guessing, we finally have some concrete information regarding Genji: Days of the Blade for the Playstation 3, and straight from the makers, too.
Published by Sony Computer Entertainment and developed by Game Republic, Genji: Days of the Blade is a single-player action and adventure title that makes full use of PS3’s capabilities by cranking whatever light effect or texture detail the console can provide. As we know, the story of Days of the Blade is set a mere three years after its PS2 predecessor Genji: Dawn of the Samurai, and continues the saga of our hero as he goes through the turmoils of war in feudal Japan.
The game promises over 15 hours of gameplay, which features combat that is based on the historical battles between the Genji and Heishi clans. Players will also be able to swap four characters in and out of battle freely and in between attacks, which results in combos. The creators also boast of the detailed articulation of the game’s swordplay, as the person to provide the motion that was incorporated into the animation was no less than Japan’s finest swordsman, Mitsuhiko Seike.
What they haven’t told us, though, is when this game would be released. While we wait for a date to be given to us, here’s some 3600 x 3600 artwork of our lead characters for us to gaze at for now.
Have I mentioned that this game is REALLY pretty…?
