Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has something good in store for Sony PlayStation Portable fans, as the recently finalized Go! Messenger service is now available. To download, just hit its icon under the Network menu.
Akin to the Skype service on PSP, Go! Messenger is SCEE‘s alternative service which offers free video, voice and instant messaging communication features. Through 2,500 BT Openzone hotspots, European PSP units can now connect and be used to communicate with ease.
It appears that the service will remain exclusive to the European region, so you can hook up and chat with friends if you’re in that part of the world. Using the Go! Cam video camera, it is possible to make video calls. Voice chat requires a headset, while an intuitive on-screen keyboard makes sending instant messages an easy task.
