Google develops free Wi-Fi service

Google is preparing to blanket the US with free Wi-Fi service.  The search engine giant has filed three patents related to offering wireless internet access.  The patents all have to do with serving up advertisements through a wireless internet connection maintained by a third party.  Google will team up with the internet company Earthlink who will build the actual Wi-Fi infrastructure and by teaming with Earthlink, Google believes the Wi-Fi network would be completed much more quickly.
