Gotta catch more! New Screenshots and Details about Pokemon Pearl and Diamond!
Just recently, I’ve been trying to recall my youthful days by watching reruns of the Pokemon animation series. I remember memorizing 150 monsters in that Poke-rap and singing the opening song as though it was the national anthem. Little do I know that my meager knowledge of pocket monsters is already considered obsolete in the world of Pokemons, especially now that Pokemon Pearl and Diamond are coming out in Japan this fall!
So what’s in store for us with this new Pokemon game other than new Pokemons? Expect nothing different in terms of the story. For one, you are still a young trainer aspiring to become a champion Pokemon trainer. At the beginning of the game you can choose to be either a girl or a boy. You live in the district of “Shinowa” in “Futaba Town.” Your town’s got lovely parks and beaches for you to hunt your first few Pokemons.
Like other Pokemon games, in order for you to actually complete all the Pokemons, you have to exchange Pokemons with other players of the game. With DS’ Wi-Fi capability, this exchange of monsters would be a breeze. The exchange however requires a Diamond and a Pearl, hence you’ve got to make sure that your friend doesn’t have the same Pokemon game as you if you want to get the missing Pokemons. There are three new Pokemons that are introduced in the game, one of which you will only get if you have a Pokemon Ranger.
The three new Pokemons are Manafi, Manura, and Gonbe respectively. Manafi is a special Pokemon that you can only obtain if you have a copy of Pokemon Ranger. Pokemon Ranger will be released for the DS this summer. After having finished Ranger, when you play Diamond or Pearl, you can access your Ranger files and you will have access to the W-Mission. The W-Mission is a special stage that will only be activated if you have ranger and diamond or pearl game files in your DS. In W-Mission, you can have a chance to get this cute little Pokemon and Manafi. As for Manura and Gonbe, these are the two new characters found in the Diamond and Pearl Games. As to how easy they are to capture or not, it’s another question. The least I could tell you is that Manura’s got the claws to tear your Pokemons apart. As for Gonbe, it’s quite obvious that he could gobble his enemies easily.
If you thought that Pokemon ended with Gold and Silver. Think again. Pearl and Diamond is a fun addition to the Pokemon franchise, giving us a new Pokemon experience to play. Like other DS games, this will utilize DS’ Wi-Fi capability so that you can swap Pokemons with your friends or even have your own Pokemon tournament. No longer is this game a solitary hunt for all the monsters, but an exciting hunt with your fellow Pokemon collectors!
