Gran Turismo 5 Prologue: Europe launch date, exclusive features announced
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has unveiled that its region will be picking up Gran Turismo 5 Prologue by March 26 to 27, depending on which format you’re planning to buy. Europe’s game copy will also be receiving some exclusive features, which you can view in detail over in the full article.
Just because Europe may not be getting Gran Turismo 5 from Polyphony Digital until 2009 doesn’t mean its denizens be left out in the cold. Sony Computer Entertainment has just sent our a press wire announcing its official release dates for the region’s copy pf GT5: Prologue.
The Blu-ray version will be available on Wednesday, March 26, for a price of 24.99 GBP (US$ 50), with a PSN download being made ready for March 27. Apparently, Sony’s initial hints weren’t too far from the mark.
Also being made available is a PlayStation 3 bundle containing a copy of Prologue, a 40GB PS3, and a SIXAXIS controller for a cumulative price of 299.99 GBP (US$ 605). Aside from getting the jump on their North American kin on Prologue’s launch date, Europe’s gamers will be getting treated to some additional goodies as well.
SCEE noted that the game will have 71 cars, and will also carry these exclusive features:
- Drift Mode: The playerÂ’s drifting technique is measured based on drift angles, racing lines, and speeds within evaluation zones located at various turns on the course.
- In-Depth Car Tuning: Players have the ability to adjust the vehicleÂ’s performance, including power, tyres, suspension and the ability for quick tuning while racing.
- Two-player Split Screen Racing: Allows players to race head-to-head offline.
- New Race Events: Online racing fans can join in on a new set of scheduled events and time trials.
