Grand Theft Auto 4 multiplayer modes detailed
As April 29 draws nearer, we know you guys are now really itching to grab a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV. Just so you know what the game has to offer when played online, we have details on the multiplayer modes from Rockstar North. Get the lowdown on the game in the full article.
In a matter of weeks, Rockstar North‘s Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) will be unleashed for the world to enjoy. So much anticipation has been building around it that it has led pre-orders of the game in the UK to almost run out.
We know that you guys want to know more about the game itself. Don’t worry. That’s what we have for you today, details on the multiplayer modes of GTA4. So far, four have only been revealed by the devs. These are team deathmatch, GTA race, cops ‘n robbers, and hangman’s noose. All in all, there will be more than 15 multiplayer modes playable.
Some of the modes are adversarial while some are co-op games. The game can support about 16 players for both versions. Each mode can be tweaked down to the last details, like number of players, weapon types, number of police and pedestrians, and more.
Now the online gameplay is split into two types, ranked and unranked. The developers considered that many players are very cautious about playing ranked missions since they’ll be instantly devoured by those who are skilled. The reward for the ranked gameplay is cash. Rockstar will be ranking the players according the amount of cash that they have.
We’re sure that the online gameplay is going to be big. No doubt about that. In fact, this is what Jeronimo Barrera, VP of game development, had to say, “If players want they can jump online and never even play the single-player again. Online is a serious time sucker. You’re going to have to be really careful if youÂ’re married.”
Now this is something that you guys can definitely look forward to. We’ll keep you guys updated with more news on the game.
