Grand Theft Auto IV Rated M By ESRB

Here’s some news on Rockstar North‘s upcoming Grand Theft Auto 4. Given the game’s reputation after releasing three titles for the said franchise, ESRB has officially rated the game as M, for Mature. Six things have been noted about the game’s content. Find out what they are after the jump!

Before anything else, do check out the screenshot above. Read the text carefully. Ok, let’s go through the crucial stuff slowly. That’s Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PS3), Rockstar Games, and finally, M for Mature. Given that, it’s really not a surprise that the game was given such a rating. After all, the previous games were already controversial.

Anyway, for those “mature” enough to legitimately grab a copy of the game, you guys will be treated to the same fun that you experienced with the previous titles. For those weak of heart or new to the game, do expect partial nudity, intense violence, and so much more from the upcoming game. Don’t say ESRB didn’t warn you.

Some may find the rating to be expected. Some might even consider it to be just like the rest of the games out there. But to a few, the letter “M” simply spells out the word “fun”.
