Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your Viva Piñata grow?

This 20 minute demo video takes you through an introductory course in Rare’s Viva Piñata 101. With helpful commentary, you are guided towards creating your own garden and attracting the colorful Piñatas to come join in the fun.

The tutorial begins simply enough: take your shovel and whack the ground to create some soft soil, plant a few grass seeds, and more or less wait. As you’re doing so, the first Piñata creatures will poke about and hopefully come settle into your newly-constructed habitat. As you progress through the game other options will be unlocked for you, such as new homes for different Piñata species, new plants to… er, plant, which in turn will attract new creatures to the garden, and so forth…

The video also covers one of the minigames in Viva Piñata, the romance dance minigame. This is where, you know, boy meets girl (of the same species), player gets boy to girl (or the other way around) in the minigame, boy and girl go to Piñata House to, er, get their freaky groove on. (And that, children, is how baby Piñatas are made).

Viva Piñata is set for a November 1 release.
