Guild Wars’ Guild of The Week!
Guild Wars this week is featuring the Black Rose Assassins (or “BRA” for short). This guild dates back to GW’s first chapter beta weekends, and was formed when two smaller guilds – The Black Rose and the Herbal Additive Supplement Hunters (HASH) decided to join forces. BRA is a small, close-knit guild of only thirteen members, whose philosophy is to “have fun” (gee, what a concept!)
BRA hosts periodic events for GW players, including their Tyrian version of that Pacific Northwest native tradition, the potlatch – which they call “give-away” events. A nice way to get rid of excess items too good to toss, BRA holds their “potlatch” where players compete for items in simple games like Trivia, Simon Says, Tin Soldier Race and Hide ‘n’ Seek. One interesting recent event was called “Bring The Build!” in which prizes were awarded for the worst, most useless build a player could come up with (more challenging than one might think).
BRA is also committed to helping their members in completing quests, acquiring items, or simply filling their vaults. Occasionally, this guild sets up “epic quests” for adventure’s sake. Recently, the BRA cleared The Falls and also enjoy going into the Northern Shiverpeaks. They’re also experts on PvE combat, and usually have some good tips. Here’s a few:
“Frequently, groups will be too cautious with aggro, which wastes time and becomes boring. Pulling larger groups of enemies is good practice for more stressful situations (like PvP) and helps complete the mission faster. Warriors find it frustrating to have their adrenaline expire while running from one group of enemies to another. Use the skill “To the Limit!” which extends the time your adrenaline remains. The recharge time on ‘To the Limit!’ is shorter than the expiration time for adrenaline, so you can continuously maintain your adrenaline level.”
Upcoming BRA events are announced on GW forums.
