Guitar Hero II’s tracklist means face-melting solos

Melt a face with your solo, Guitar Hero!

Guitar Hero II won’t be out till spring of 2007, and that is such a long time away, what with all the snow and all that still has to come before it gets here. In an effort to keep warm though, you might as well practice doing your air guitar solos while you wait for the snow to melt and for Guitar Hero II to come to the Xbox 360.

RedOctane has released the tracklist for the PS2 version set to come out in November, but you can pretty much expect this to be a part of the Xbox 360 repertoire of rock goodness. Hopefully, they’ll add a few more tracks in 360 version that won’t need unlocking, but 40 seems like a solid number to think about in the meantime. Personally though, without anything by OK Go or Dolly Parton, this is more like Guitar Hero-in-training than anything else.

In any case, here are the songs you’ve got to prepare for, divided into eight levels of difficulty. Get to practicing!

Opening Licks:
Motley Crue – Shout at the Devil
Danzig – Mother
Cheap Trick – Surrender
Wolfmother – Woman
Spinal Tap – Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight

Amp-Warmers
Kiss – Strutter
Nirvana – Heart-Shaped Box
Police – Message in a Bottle
Van Halen – You Really Got Me
Kansas – Carry on Wayward Son
