Halogen Lighting Rumored to Throw off Wiimote

Apparently there is a rumor going around that claims that the Wiimote will react like Superman struck by Kryptonite when faced with a room full of halogen lights. The rumor does at least sound somewhat possible if not likely when you consider the amount of interference devices face from all manner of sources these days. I mean every time I turn on my microwave at home my WIFI signal drops down to near zero!

With cell phones, electromagnetic interference and all the rest to contend with, it wouldn’t surprise me too much to find out that a wireless device like the Wiimote could be adversely affected by halogen lighting. On the other hand, I don’t know much at all about halogen lighting and how it would or would not affect signal propagation. So for now this one should remain squarely in the rumor category until we have some confirmation from a more reliable source if you ask me.
