Here’s to staying positive – Sony is fine with October NPD report
I gotta take my hat off to Sony. Even after sales declines and the October NPD report, they’re still looking at the bright side. With 14 million registered PSN accounts, and the PlayStation brand under their belt, who’s frowning?
Given the economic standing of the gaming industry, developers laying people off, and their own sales declining, Sony keeps a stiff upper lip and keeps it smiling.
The PS3 is still in positive momentum, with 190,000 units sold, boasting a 90% growth year-to-date. IThe 30 new titles in October sold 2.3 million units of software. The PSP is still doing pretty good too, remaining a popular choice for mobile entertainment, selling 193,000 units last month.
For Sony, the October decline isn’t so bad. Apparently, the clouds are full of silver lining, especially considering that the holidays are coming, and that they’re enjoying consistent momentum.
