Hideo Kojima considers PSP audience important
What does the creator of the Metal Gear series, Hideo Kojima, have in store for fans of his work? A lot of speculation has been made regarding this, but the developer has yet to give anything definite. While combing through a recent interview, we noticed that he mentioned that the PlayStation Portable audience is “very important.” Could this mean what we think it does? Head on over to the full article for more information.
Remember when we ran an article regarding Hideo Kojima‘s future plans for the Metal Gear series? While combing through the same interview, we noticed an interesting little statement from the developer regarding the PlayStation Portable.
Kojima noted that the PlayStation Portable audience, at least in Japan, is very different from the those who play MGS on the consoles. To illustrate this point, he cited his own son, who is in the 13-15 year old age group.
He noted that his child used to criticize the game until Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops was released for the PlayStation Portable, an event which lead him to this conclusion:
So it seems like the middle school kids are really, really having fun with the PSP. It might not be the Metal Gear series, but I would like to consider this audience because it’s very important and new.
Could this mean that we’ll be seeing more of Kojima’s work on the PlayStation Portable? We can only hope.
