HMV now offering PS3 pre-orders, but…

Talk about package deals. For the guys who prefer not to end up camping out for their PS3, retailer HMV has a deal for you. They’ve just sent out a promo that states that in light of the upcoming March 23 launch in Europe, they are offering a special PS3 pre-order bundle. Included in the package is a 4GB PSP and the 60GB PS3 (individual price £ 425 or US$ 835.50), which brings up this lovely bundle up to a total price of £ 674.99 (about US$ 1, 327) . Of course, there are a  couple of catches.

First, you have to purchase the PSP bundle to even pre-order PS3 – guaranteeing that HMV has at least one confirmed transaction. Second, while the offer states the PSP will be shipped to the guys who ordered asap, it adds that PS3s are still unavailable for shipping until the launch day itself. That means until March 23rd (and probably onward), you’ll be paying close to 700 quid for just the portable – which will fortunately carry Gangs of London and Killzone: Liberation.

What say you, fans? While the price is admittedly steep, we can’t help but think 250 isn’t such a bad deal for a 4GB unit and two games – one of which is a current must-have.
