Indiana Jones All Set to Rock E3 with Animation Technology That’s Supposedly Too Human

Indiana JonesLucasArts announced that Indiana Jones’ nitty-gritty expedition for Xbox 360 and PS3 will feature the euphoria behavioral-simulation engine from NaturalMotion Ltd. This industry first will enable Indiana Jones and his nemesis “to move, act and even think like actual human beings without the limitations of traditional animation… resulting in a series of experiences and payoffs that will never be the same twice.” Furthermore, LucasArts’ hypesquad said euphoria technology means the action isn’t scripted – it’s simulated – making gameplay totally unpredictable.

“A.I. (that’s Artificial Intelligence not Artificial Idol) drives character behaviors so that thereÂ’s a different payoff every time. WeÂ’ve been working with NaturalMotion since 2004 to help bring their groundbreaking technology to games, and thereÂ’s no better character to demonstrate it than Indiana Jones.” LucasArts will demonstrate euphoria in action on May 10-12 at the E3 Expo. Aaaaaah! Why do these people torture us so?
