Info on new Revolution game: Thorn

For a studio with, apparently, no experience under their belt yet, Crossbeam Studios surely know how to appear ambitious. They’ve got 3 Rev games in the works at the same time – Darkness, Orb, and finally Thorn.

In an interview with GoNintendo, they gave out some info about Thorn, which is going to be an Action/Adventure type game, but with so many gameplay styles that even if they manage to deliver half of them, it remains to be seen if they can form a cohesive whole. Besides space combat, adventurous exploration, on-rails segments and shooting action, swordplay seems to be all the rage for the Rev now anyway, so why not include it too? That’s exactly what Crossbeam Studios are doing.

They plan to really immerse you in the game, with changing weather and climates, free-form gameplay, and have you see and feel through a character’s eyes.“WeÂ’re really trying to get the player to to see things from the characters eyes, and be in the game, not just playing it waving a wand around.”

Crossbeam has yet to find a publisher for their titles, but if they can keep up with their vision of quality, it should not be a long-term problem. We’ll keep our eyes on them…
