There might be a plethora of survival horror games out there in the market but Atari‘s Alone in the Dark (
Xbox 360, PS3 , PC, Wii, PS2) has plans to dominate it and reclaim its title through astounding gameplay, stunning graphics, and dramatic tension-building as said by the game’s producer,
Nour Polloni.

In an interview with OXM, Polloni said that they wanted to apply the rules of the real world in Alone in the Dark, wherein every situation has multiple results. They discovered that for every person that will be playing it, different outcomes will occur, which makes the game all the more exciting – an emergent gameplay in itself.

As a matter of fact, the inventory management and combination of items will be presented in a fluid manner. Also, key things like puzzles, fights, and plot twists will be mixed together in each episode to make the game even more interesting.

For the visuals of the game, they were able to use GPS satellite data to make detailed renditions of Central Park with an accuracy of 50 cm. According to Polloni, they were able to create an engine that allowed them to have unlimited number of real time lights, creating a distinct ambiance to the environments found within the game.

Unlike Resident Evil and Silent Hill, Alone in the Dark is unique in its own way because the developers wanted to suggest fear in the hearts of gamers. They built up the tension by having players worry about the things that might happen at any time. The developers wanted players to experience a sense of unease and tension while playing it.

Hopefully, with the various elements being talked about here, things could turn out great when the game comes out. Keep checking back on our site for more updates on this game.
