Nothing like having a classic to have in your iPhone or iPod Touch at the ready in case you feel like fast-forwarding yourself Adam Sandler Click-style to the next couple of hours. Pipe Mania is one of those games, and if imitation is the best form of flattery, the number of clones this game has makes it one very smug @#$%, and it’s now available in the App Store.

In case you haven’t played Pipe Mania or one of its clones, the objective is basically to connect point A and point B with a series of randomly generated pipe pieces before the time limit expires. The more pieces you use, the bigger your score. No problem if you just build the most direct pipeline that your pieces allow, but it gets tricky when you try to twist and circle all over the map.

Pipe Mania offers a lot of twists and gameplay additions to make the whole process a lot more fun, such as preset pipe pieces on the map and obstacles that keep you from building the most needlessly elaborate pipeline known to plumbing. This latest version, which was based largely on the 2008 PSP release, also allows you to do away with the pipes for a while so you can go lay tracks out on a field to guide a train between two tunnels.

About the only concern about the App Store release is that it comes with a US$ 4.99 price tag. But if you love cleaning your pipes (pun intended), then you shouldn’t have a problem shelling out.
