Is ninja inviting considered rude by the WoW community? - Image 1Ninja inviting, or receiving an unsolicited invite to join a guild or a raiding party, is a pretty common thing in World of Warcraft. Those with higher-leveled characters will probably understand why these can quickly become annoying.

Most of players on the WoW Forums see this as very rude. Proper in-game etiquette dictates that a whispered request be sent to the player before inviting them into a guild or group. After all, would the player join the guild not knowing what to expect? Forum Moderator/ Community Manager feels this way as well:

It’s generally seen as more polite to at least message someone first before inviting them to guilds or groups. I tend to prefer to know what I’m being invited for myself. 😉 What can I say? I’m just not all that big on surprises.

So if you’re planning on sending out an invite, be sure to chat with the person first and explain what your group has to offer. It’s considered the polite thing to do by most WoW gamers. After all, you won’t really lose anything except a couple of seconds to type the message.
