It’s a stretch: ‘DKS3713’ rearranged spells out ‘REMAKE 7’

After the media blitz from the DKS3713 event of Square Enix, things have been rather slow. And if you’re still holding out for that big FF7 announcement – which I think is already covered when they announced that FF7ACC will include the FF13 demo – then here’s something you might want to see. I do warn you though, it’s nothing but a rumor – more of fan art, even. But I’ll nonetheless share it with you guys. Time for anagram lessons.

Well, Square Enix‘s ongoing DKΣ3713 private party is on its last day, and some of you may still be holding out for that “big FF7 announcement” they’re supposedly going to drop. According to the official site though, the same schedule from yesterday will be implemented today – which means, whatever was revealed yesterday is probably it. Case closed.

Or is it?

Similar to announcing FF13 for the Xbox 360 in their E3 press conference, they could likewise “pull another Square Enix” and drop the major bomb about the FF7 announcement when the DKΣ3713 event closes today. And what could that be? Online speculation has run wild yet again with hopes for a remake of FF7.

Trolling around the Internet led me to a mildly interesting yet highly unlikely bit of speculation from a few days ago. Someone took the name of Square Enix’s party and rearranged the letters – sort of like what you would do in an anagram. And what does D-K-Σ-3-7-1-3 spell out? It’s a bit of a stretch, honestly, but oh well: REMAKE 7.

Take this with a grain of salt. Heck, take the whole salt factory if you want. I don’t think it’s even substantial enough to be called a rumor in its own right – more of like fan art, I’d say. And instead of throwing in a Rumor label, let’s just categorize this under Off-Topic. But there you go.

DKΣ3713 = REMAKE 7. The 1 and 3s were flipped to spell out the R and Es, respectively, while the Sigma character and D were rotated horizontally for the M and A.

Just so you know, the DKΣ3713 event is named as such because it spells out the following upcoming releases:

D: Dissidia: Final Fantasy
K: Kingdom Hearts (BBS, 358/2 Days, Coded)
Σ: Sigma Harmonics
3: Parasite Eve 3: The 3rd Birthday
7: Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete
13: Final Fantasy 13 (FF13, FF Versus 13, FF Agito 13)

“Remake 7” just doesn’t hold much water for me. I think their “major FF7 announcement” was already the news about Advent Children Complete including the FF13 demo – or maybe that’s just not “big” enough for some people? So with that… move along now… Nothing much to see here.
