Nintendo World DS Lite Launch

Nintendo World in New York City held a midnight launch of the newest version of the Nintendo DS, the DS Lite. A huge number of people showed up, many of them cosplaying their favourite Nintendo characters. Some of them had already lined up 12 hours before the event began! Those who waited that long were rewarded with a free DS Lite carrying case and copy of Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day with their DS Lite purchase. Then again, those 12 hours weren’t spent idling away as everyone was able to enjoy wireless battles of the DS’ many multiplayer games like Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Over 17 million DS systems have been sold (not shipped, sold) around the world; Nintendo is hoping that the DS Lite will help push sales even higher.
