Jagex Ltd, the company behind hit online game Runescape, has decided to expand their already successful FunOrb gaming site. Two new additions are in place, and they’ll excite what Jagex calls the “hard casual” fans out there.

Off the bat is an update to FunOrb’s most popular offering, Arcanists. A multiplayer mode is now available to be played free by both registered and unregistered users. New spellbooks can now be unlocked to gain an edge in head-to-head matches. this is done by simply becoming a FunOrb member.

More importantly, a new game is being introduced and it’s called Shattered Plans. This is a six-player online strategy game with a space-themed backdrop. Players will battle it out by occupying known sectors in space and annihilating enemy forces in the area. Gaining new territories will open up resource stockpiles which can be used to build more fleets for massive invasions.

FunOrb is a Java-based site that allows virtually anyone who wants a quick game to jump in and participate. Jagex says it will continue to expand the service to accommodate more players with various preferences.
