Just the Cold, Hard Facts: Virtua Fighter 5

Hard Rock Faced Softie

We scored Sega‘s Virtua Fighter 5 fact sheet and here’s what we got! Ready? Read!

Change costume! It’s got 17 default characters you can play, customize, and modify. You can do this by selecting four base costumes and then decorating them by using unlocked or earned items. These items may be gained by either defeating a big time opponent, competing for a prize, or getting mo’ money and buying them from the in-game store.

New kids on the block. There are two additional characters, El Blaze, the R. Mysterio clone, and Eileen, a Monkey Kung Fu Master. We’ve showed them extensively through our past screenshots and even a video of a little fight between the two. They seem to be both looking great.

New moves. There’s an “Offensive Move” technique now. It allows players to move around their opponent from the side. This will surely add a new strategic element to fights.

A new way to view and hear the game. It’s capable of getting up there in widescreen format as well as 5.1 channel Dolby Digital surround, so you can play your game like you were in a theatre of your own. It has a extremely high detailed 3d fighting landscape to serve as a backdrop or arena for all the fights. More eyecandy for you folks out there.

So there it is the fact sheet. Now all we need is to wait for the game’s release in Spring 2007, and we’re ready to fight!
