Kingdom of Paradise 2: Busouden – First game to require FW2.80?

BusoudenKingdom of Paradise 2: Busouden just so happens to be one of the most-awaited Japanese RPGs, and the world has been awaiting its release for a good while now. However, with its unveiling a mere few days away, the game seems to be an omen for bad news: Could it be that this game would be the first of a batch that will only run on 2.80 Firmware or higher?

This tidbit has not yet been confirmed, though PSP homebrew developer 0okm did said that this may be the case. In his own words, this game “come with FW2.80 UpDate File”.

If this were to be the case, people who have ordered or those who want to purchase this title will have to upgrade their firmware versions, just to get this game to run. Since 2.80 is yet to be fully cracked open, this may also mean having to give up homebrew and wait until the PSP community manages to outsmart Sony‘s programmers yet again. However, this would also mean having to face the questions of “When will that happen?” and “Is this game worth giving up homebrew for?”

While all this remains unsure, we’ll stay tuned and see if this rumor will either be confirmed, or go among the list of those that have been royally debunked. In the meantime, perhaps this could serve as a heads-up for the homebrew community in general.
