Most probably not.
The rumors of FF on handhelds first broke following their announcement of a Dragon Quest IX for the DS. The port did spectacularly well, having sold a massive four million copies since its December launch.
“In terms of Final Fantasy in general, the teams are really aiming for movie quality graphics and really dramatic storylines,” he said.
“For now, at least, consoles like the Xbox 360 and PS3 are the best place for this kind of cinematic experience to take place. We don’t feel that it needs to transition necessarily to a handheld platform.”
Final Fantasy XIII is their latest game offering on consoles.
