Konami announces new release date for MGS: Portable Ops

MGS: Portable Ops dated - Image 1After releasing new scans for cutely unconventional video game Dewy’s Adventure, Konami now changes gear (read: stealth mode) and made a statement regarding delayed PlayStation Portable (PSP) title Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.

The title should have been available in European video game stores since Friday of last week. It was delayed due to a missing British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) stamp. For a time, Konami was quiet as to when MGS: Portable Ops will finally push through but one spokesperson confirmed today that it should be out on May 25.

MGS: Portable Ops has been available in U.S. and Japan since December 2006 and the title already garnered accolades as it topped charts during its first few weeks, aside from receiving good reviews from various gaming sites. This is actually the third title from the Metal Gear franchise that appeared on the PSP platform.

Lastly, Australia should get MGS: Portable Ops this coming June 7.
