Konsoles for Kids: Buy a 360 and help make kids’ wishes come true
If buying a console means making kids’ wishes come true, then we’re all ready to buy some more Xbox 360 units. In line with the Xbox 360’s first birthday celebration, the “Konsoles for Kids” campaign was recently announced. Customized 360 units signed by various celebrities from sports, music, fashion, film, and TV will be auctioned off to gamers all over Australia in an effort to help raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Australia.
Aside from being able to play all the classic arcade games on XBLA with your new 360s, these units will also be major eye candy. Celebrated artist Wayne Harrison worked on these consoles, airbrushed each one with the likeness of the celebrity who signed it. The Xbox 360 units will be auctioned off on a weekly basis, and the first batch of the customized consoles has already been up in eBay since March 23. All of the proceeds will go to the foundation to help make the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses come true. Microsoft Australia has also promised to donate an additional AU$ 1000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every customized 360 unit sold.
