Official word has finally been released regarding the PC version of Capcom‘s Xbox 360 hit Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Japanese site Game Watch Impress reports that both Nvidia and Capcom have finally announced that they will be joining forces to bring the title to PCs.

The PC version will reportedly be running on Direct X 10, has improved lighting and shadows, and will support resolutions of up to “2,560×1,600 dots.” Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is slated for release in North America and Europe in June. Japan, meanwhile, has not yet gotten a release date.

Concerning whether or not this game will be available on an OS other than Vista, a PR guy from Nvidia revealed to Game Watch Impress that “being able to verify it is not for the present.” That right there’s some pretty bad web-translated Japanese, but we’re guessing that it means Lost Planet will only be available for Vista. Perhaps support will be added for other OSes in the future.
