Codemasters and Turbine Inc. have released another landmark lore piece for The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. This time, we get to know more about the place called Bonfire Glade.

This circular clearing can be found within the Old Forest just east of Buckland. While it is not far from the protective hedge of the High Hay, one is always sure to feel the lingering sense of woe and foreboding in the place.

Bonfire Glade is actually a constant reminder of the once-hostile relationship between the Hobbits of Buckland and the dark Old Forest. Here’s how Turbine put it:

It is said that the High Hay was built to defend Buckland from the shadowy creatures of the Old Forest, and perhaps even the very trees themselves.

Legends tell of the trees attacking Buckland, looming over the High Hay, and of the BrandybucksÂ’ invasion of the Old Forest in retaliation, cutting down many trees and building a huge bonfire.

Up to this day, trees still don’t grow on the said bonfire and that’s why current people of Buckland has just knew it as an open field. To know more about the place, feel free to click the source link below.
