Lumines Live!: Xbox Customer Support replies
Microsoft may have really been feeling the heat. Dj Lonestar, a member of the Xbox UK/Ireland forums, started this thread last Friday about how miffed he was with the entire Lumines Live! marketing foul-up. One can recall people’s outrage when they thought they were buying a full game from Marketplace, only to receive less than that they expected.
The original thread suddenly disappeared from the forum, which would have been, well, a cause for concern in and of itself. But Dj woke up this morning (morning where he is, anyway) to find an email from the Xbox Customer Support team which he then quickly posted onto the Xbox forums. We quote that letter in its entirety:
“Thanks for contacting XBOX Customer Support,
Luminous Live is known to have some issues regarding unsatisfactory in it’s download. Please wait until Monday to see wether we have any updates regarding this issue. Do not download or purchase anything else that has to be dealt with Luminous Live. Until then, feel free to contact us via telephone for any updates of this issue and what we can offer you.
For any questions regarding this issue, please contact Xbox customer support on http://www.xbox.com/support/contact/
Thanks for time and support,
XBOX customer service team.”
Dj himself is beginning to wonder if all the ranting he, fellow forum members, and other dissatisfied Lumines Live! customers the world over could have finally forced Microsoft to concede. He’s also wondering what Monday will bring from Microsoft as he says that other people have claimed to receive this same email.
On the other hand, there was something about the letter that felt odd, and no, it’s not the “Luminous Live!” bit as we’re not sure if it’s just a naming convention on the other side of the Atlantic (can any UK or Irish readers please help us confirm this?). It feels less formal, too slapped together, bad grammar and all. And then there’s the sudden deletion of Dj’s thread, which apparently has happened to similar threads critical of the Lumines microtransaction scheme. Could this just simply be a case of bad customer service?
Well, Monday’s around the corner. We’ll find out soon enough.
