Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins multiplayer demo now available for download
Game developer Codemasters has just released a multiplayer demo of Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins on its site. The demo will feature two multiplayer maps that are also playable in multiplayer mode. An original RTS from Russian developer KDV Games, Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins was released toward the end of 2006 in Australia (and February 2007 for the U.S.) for the PC with a “T” rating by the ESRB.
The first two-player map, named Top of the Hill, allows players to command either the Remnants or the Hai-Genti alien force with the simple (well, not so simple) goal of destroying the opposing enemy base. The first to reach the summit will gain control of the water pump at the top of the hill, terraforming and dam building will be crucial for the Remnants to save their base from possible flooding by the aquatic aliens.
The second four-player map, titled Lair of the Devil, enables players to again compete as either the Remnants, or the Hai-Genti aliens. This map is a barren and volcanic. The map is one of the 14 multiplayer maps available in the full game.
All told, if you haven’t tried playing the game and would like to try it, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. If you’re still not interested, you can check the screenshots and see if that catches your fancy.
