Mario Kart Wii: Streamlined online matchmaking?
More details have popped up for Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii racing game, thanks to the company’s recent Fall Press Conference 2007. The first details we make mention of is that the game is definitely going to be carry up to 12 players online.
And while Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime did talk about this during the E3 2007, Satoru Iwata‘s keynote address during the fall press con effectively solidified this as fact.
Satoru also hinted that Mario Kart Wii’s online multiplayer would carry a more streamlined matchmaking process. Are we looking at the possibility of not having to jot down those pesky friend codes?
It’s too early to tell at this point, although we’re hoping this is indeed the case. We’ve got plenty of time to see what Nintendo’s planing, though, as Mario Kart Wii is currently scheduled for a spring 2008 launch. Those who’d like to grab a peek at the rest of Iwata’s keynote can access the official Nintendo video stream via the read link. Grab a comfy seat – the video’s 46 minutes long.
