Storyline:

Mario and the gang (Why anybody would invite Wario is beyond us) are invited to a magical carnival, which they must traverse by completing mini-game after mini-game. That’s it – now we move on to the fun!

Game progression:

Think a fast-paced board game. While the game provides elements of traditional table-top board games we’re familiar with (like Monopoly), it also challenges players with its wide assortment of mini-games for every move the gamer makes. There are a six boards to go through, each with their own variations to keep you guessing on what to expect next.

Characters:

Of course, what’s a Mario game without the characters? Aside from the game’s lineup of 14 characters remembered from past Mario party titles, the game will be featuring two new characters in the guys of “Hammer Bro” and Blooper.

Other special features:

1. Players can transform their character using candy power-ups – a game series first.  Example:

  • When Peach eats Bowlo Candy, she’ll turn into a Peach-faced ball and bowl over characters to get their coins.
  • When Wario eats Vampire Candy, he’ll sprout wings and fly off to suck the coins from all other players.

2. A more engaging view of the action puts the player “on the board” with his traveling character, no longer far above the whole board looking down.
