Homebrew developer Muhie, in collaboration with coder PHPnerd, drew up a C-coded version of Mario Road. The once Lua-based homebrew game for the Sony PlayStation Portable grew up nine major notches since its initial release and is now officially at its prime. But the improvements didn't roll to a stop with Mario Road version 1.0, because a lot has changed since.Aside from additional content (there are now eight levels to play through), several adjustments were made to the early glitches exhibited by Mario Road version 0.1:
- Bowser's sprite now changes when he changes direction;
- Mario's no longer allowed to sneak away from view )he cannot escape past the edges of the screen); and,
- Sometimes running over bananas won't deduct points - now they do.
