Marketing images for the phone 16 Pro and phone 16 Pro appear to have leaked days before launch.

As we get closer to the Apple Event in September, rumors are starting to include marketing materials. In a post on X, a leaked claims that this happened for the iPhone 16 Series. Lakhwinder’s four images from Saturday look like marketing materials for China. The currency visible in the first image is a clue. The first image shows a list of specifications for the iPhone 16 with the vertical alignment of the camera. It is described as having an aluminum and glass body with a 6.1-inch screen, with an Action Button on the side. According to reports, the A18 chip and USB-C connector are also included. A 48-megapixel camera capable of shooting video for Apple Vision Pro should be available. A second image of the iPhone 16 Pro’s back shows the Ultra Wide camera with a 48-megapixel sensor. Also mentioned is the Tetraprism lens, as well as the A18 Pro chip’s capabilities in computational photography. Two more images feature group shots of both the iPhone 16 Pro (in a variety colors) and iPhone 16 (in a similar color scheme). The leak looks like Apple’s usual online marketing material, but it is not guaranteed to be genuine. Apple has a few more weeks before releasing the new models. Apple is also very conscious of maintaining secrecy when it comes to hardware like the iPhone. Although many of the specifications mentioned seem plausible and were raised in previous rumors, this does not mean that the images are real. Anyone who can use renders of iPhones in previous reporting to create their own marketing material and present them as authentic can do so. There is also no track record for accuracy when it comes Apple products. If there was a past, the images would have a bit more provenance. Apple has yet to officially launch its new products, so there is no guarantee that the rumors or leaks will be true. Update August 20, 1:28 PM ET: It has been revealed that AppleTrack had previously broadcast an image of a collection of iPhone 16 Pros. This seems to prove the dubious nature of the leak.
