Media Molecule has shot down the possibility of a sequel for LittleBigPlanet. In an interview with Critical Gamer, the devs shut the doors closed on an LBP 2, saying that a sequel would be “counterproductive.”
Said level designer Danny Leaver, an LBP sequel would only serve to fragment the game’s community. “WeÂ’d never want to do that. ThatÂ’d be the most counterproductive thing you could do I think.”
Instead of a part 2, Media Molecule will continue to focus on DLC and updates for the game. “I think what youÂ’ve seen so far from LittleBigPlanet, thatÂ’s the way itÂ’s going to continue,” said producer Martin Lynagh.
“We have a lot of stuff coming out, especially next year. We canÂ’t really talk about specifics for a lot of it at the moment, because a lot of it hasnÂ’t been announced,” Lynagh revealed.
Good news, that, seeing as how Media Molecule’s post-launch support for the game has been quite impressive.
