Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Available for Launch

According to an IGN interview with Retro Studios, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will be available for the Wii launch contrary to rumours started by Electronics Gaming Monthly earlier this week. More information was also revealed. Although Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will not use the Nintendo WiFi Connection, the team is trying to figure out a way to utilize the “Wii Connect 24” service. The dark world/light world gimmick from the last game is gone, which is a good thing in my opinion. Instead, the game will feature lots of new planets and large areas on each. However, you will not be able to travel from planet to planet. This might be a good thing if you consider how tedious the Gummi Ship levels in Kingdom Hearts were. However, Retro hinted at a visor that will let you control Samus’ ship remotely. The X-Ray visor will also be making a triumphant return and work with a new beam which lets you shoot through walls (I can hear the CS players yelling “wall hax”). Retro is working on getting the graphics looking sharp and running at 60 frames per second.
