Mexican site taking Wii preorders

Mexican computerWhat do Mexican online stores have that their American counterparts don’t? Uhm, we don’t know exactly but they are dishing out pre-order deals for the Wii. As of now, other online stores like Gamestop and Gamecrazy do not have such offers. Amazon stopped taking reservations as well.

The first offer we reported on was at a store called Game Planet. This time, another one is spotted over at Sanborns, one of Mexico‘s major retail chains. The console will be making its debut in the Americas on November 19 with a suggested retail price of $249.99. Ordering the console now at Sanborns will cost 4,699 Pesos (roughly around $425).

Actually, pricing for Wii varies for each location. The Mexican site is, of course, aware of this hence the warning: “En caso de que el precio de esta preventa sea menor el día de la liberación, se le reembolsará la diferencia correspondiente.”

We know most of you didn’t quite understand that. It simply means should the pre-sale amount is smaller than the launch day price, the corresponding difference will be collected from the buyers. Hmm, now that’s interesting…
