MGS: Portable Ops dominating in Japan

MGS: PO

Yup, Japan is loving their portable stealth-based fun brought about by Konami‘s Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. Naked Snake and company is reported to be really doing well in the land of the rising Sun according to Enterbrain estimates which were reported by French gaming website, Jeux-France.

Apparently, the game already sold nearly a 100,000 copies only a day after it was released in the Japanese market. Impressive. You could say whatever you want about the game (like it’s the testing ground for MGS 4), but it sure is looking like a winner. Let’s just see if it performs the same, or even better, once it comes out in European territories.

Another thing to look out for is that this could boost the PSP’s success over at the Land of the Rising Sun. As many of you may have realized by now, Nintendo’s DS has been lording over Sony‘s handheld in this Asian turf. Now perhaps Snake can do something about this.
